"Hi Channing! It was fun to work with you this past weekend! I could tell you were really working hard and trying to apply everything the coaches were saying! Also, there’s a few cute pics in the google drive of you— so don’t forget to check that out! Strengths- Weight Transfer in your motion. Pitching Motion is fluid and smooth. Leg Drive off the mound is good. Arm Circle is good! Improvements- the biggest thing I can tell you is to find your “GAS PEDAL” where is the point in your motion that you want to accelerate, be aggressive, and start to attack the hitter? Right now, everything is the same speed. Let’s find a gas pedal that send your forward. This will help you improve everything —- leg drive, arm speed, posture, and speed! Biggest Mechanic Improvement that will be Impactful: Continue to finish your pitch after the ball is gone. Let’s speed up that back side and power through your pitch. The FB drills we did together will help with this— FB Kick & FB drag hold. Biggest Pitch to continue to grow with: Screw Ball looks really good! Let’s work on placing this in different lanes on the inside corner to make it great! Drop -You Have time!! Don’t rush to snap the ball down, give yourself time to get your bodyweight to your front leg and then snap down with a purpose!" -Evaluated by Monica Abbott

"Channing has one of the highest ceilings of any pitcher at the camp. I’m excited to see where she ends up! We talked a bunch about how to step on line, and create a lane for her arm to stay on line when hitting spots, specifically in and outside. She often steps towards the right which leaves her inside pitches in the right-handed batter's box and her outside pitches spin changing as she pulls her shoulders and then her pitching arm across her body. If she continuously trusts her step, leaving space for her arm circle on all of her spin pitches, she gets a good enough drive and stride to be able to throw accurate spots with velocity. She also should work on keeping her front side and glove hand in and on line for whichever direction she's throwing to prevent her front shoulder from flying open." -Evaluated by Alana Vawter (Stanford/South Carolina, Florida Vibe - Pro)

"Focus on increasing your leg drive and arm speed throughout the entire pitch to generate more power. Avoid locking out your back leg and keep your arm circle as long as possible to create more whip. A good mental reminder is to think about your back leg beating your arm to the finish of the pitch; this will help accelerate your back leg and improve your overall speed. For your changeup, avoid lifting with your chest. Don’t slow down at the end of the pitch; instead, try to maintain a tempo similar to your other pitches. Use your front foot to gain leverage and throw off of it. Keeping these adjustments in mind will help you maintain consistency and effectiveness." -Evaluated by Karlyn Pickens (Tennessee)
