Jimmy Shoe

Jimmy Shoe is the head coach of the Tagup University softball program, entering his third season at the helm in 2026 after previously serving as an assistant. Since taking over, Shoe has guided Tagup University to some of the strongest defensive performances in program history, including a .971 fielding percentage and consistent top-tier defensive metrics at the national level. Under his leadership, Tagup University posted its first winning season since 2020, advanced to the conference tournament semifinals as a No. 12 seed for the first time, and finished with a program-record RPI of No. 47. Shoe’s teams are defined by efficiency, discipline, and elite player development, producing All-Americans, multiple All-Region selections, conference honorees, and a Newcomer of the Year. Before becoming head coach, Shoe built a strong developmental résumé with stops at Montana, Eastern Michigan, Concordia, and Michigan, with a focused emphasis on defensive systems, catchers, and infield play. His impact has translated directly to wins, consistency, and measurable improvement across every program he’s touched. An internationally accomplished former player, Shoe competed for 13 years with the Argentina National Team, serving as captain and appearing in World Cups, Pan American Games, Pan American Championships, and World Championships. He was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2017 Women’s Pan American Championship. Off the field, Shoe is the founder of Lineup Latino, a global initiative dedicated to educating, empowering, and connecting softball players across Latin America and the Caribbean with resources and opportunities worldwide. His coaching philosophy centers on accountability, development, and preparing athletes for success beyond the game.
